Helen Bar-Lev, New York born, is a well known Israeli artist who has held over eighty exhibitions around the globe over the last thirty years. She is renowned for her delicately unique technique combining pen and brush to achieve a level of detail rarely seen in watercolor paintings.
Helen's poems range in subject matter from the mundane to the mystical many of which describe the beauty of Israel's landscapes and people with clarity which parallels that of her paintings.
Cyclamens and Swords, a collection of poems about the land of Israel by Helen and Johnmichael Simon, profusely illustrated with her paintings and sketches, published by Ibbestson Street Press, 2007, is now available.

While doing her doctorate in Comparative Canadian Literature at the Université de Sherbrooke, Jo-Anne became interested in both Women's Studies and the production and reception of translated literature, and has continued her research and practice in both areas. She has taught, worked and published in both languages and is now conveniently based in Canada's only bilingual province, where she divides her time among her large family, community work, writing postcard stories, editing and publishing fiction and poetry, doing research, and translating Acadian literature and books on Acadian history, culture and art.
